Meet the Team

We pride ourselves on the ability to attract and retain employees with industry leading skills and expertise. The business has expanded continually since 1999, and now has over 135 employees based at two sites in the UK.

This section aims to introduce you to some of the people behind our success. Each employee has come from a different background and offers a different skills set. What brings these employees together is their commitment and passion, demonstrated by their length of service.

Nathan Snow - Head of Operations and Quality

I joined MMUK (Soham) in 2003 as a Quality Controller (QC) and quickly progressed to Senior QC, Team Leader and Manager by 2005 where I served 2 years in Central Europe as Operations / QC Manager.

Then in 2007 I returned back to the UK to become a Quality Production Manager, overseeing quality and production efficiencies in our UK pack house.

In 2011 I became a Senior Operations Manager, leading a number of accounts in line with the Tesco’s current agenda of direct sourcing and applying UK Service Provision.

Finally in 2015 as MMUK (Soham) evolved our Business model into AMT Fruit, I adopted my current position as Head of Department leading the team at AMT Fruit operationally and focusing on the systems which allow us to deliver an industry leading service to Tesco.

Why I like working for MMUK, the 4 ‘P's'

  1. People - AMT has a great team and everyone takes great pride in their work.
  2. Progression and personal development – as detailed above, I have had a varied and successful career with MMUK (Soham) / AMT Fruit.
  3. Pace - FMCG, every day has a different challenge!
  4. Product – I am from an agricultural background and enjoy working with produce.

I enjoy taking part in team challenges. In the past I have played a part as the AMT Fruit Social Champion and take pride in organising social / team events that bring the team together. Now being a father to a young family I love to spend time with my boys and we all enjoy outbound activities.

Adam Strong - Technical Administrator

I joined MMUK in March 2014 as Technical Apprentice doing an Advanced Apprenticeship in Food and Drink Manufacturing and Technical Management. During my apprenticeship I undertook and achieved additional qualifications such as Food Safety, Level 3 in HACCP and a BRC Internal Auditors qualification which are important to have in a Technical role.

Having completed my apprenticeship in March 2015, I was kept on as a Technical Administrator, which involves compiling Due Diligence checks from all suppliers across grapes and citrus for all of our customers.

MMUK is a great company to work for as there are many opportunities to learn and progress across the business, with the added bonus of a fantastic team around you for help and support.

Nicola Goodliffe - Technical Coordinator (Juice and Ice Cream)

After completing a BSc Nutrition at the University of Nottingham, I spent a few years working in the food industry before joining MMUK in 2013, as a Technical Coordinator for both the juice and ice cream areas of the business. I immediately felt welcomed into the juice team, and now consider myself an integral part of the MMUK family.

Over the last two years I have gained a wealth of technical knowledge in the fresh and frozen produce industries, and have also been lucky enough to travel to our factories both in Spain and the Netherlands. This technical understanding within the business has meant, that we as a company are able to provide excellent service to our customers. Being based in the UK has also given me the chance to be involved in the new product development process, gaining insights into the UK markets, and using this knowledge to co-innovate with the Spanish teams.

MMUK have encouraged me to grow and progress, not only as a person but also within the company, taking on more responsibilities over my time here. I relish being part of this fast paced part of the business, and love the diversity of opportunities it yields.

Matthew Embrey - Commercial Manager for Citrus

I joined MMUK in early 2014 as Junior Commercial Manager on the citrus team, having previously done a similar role in another fresh produce business after completing the MDS scheme. I initially spent 6 months learning about the role and citrus, visiting our Parent company offices and Packhouses in Spain to learn about the wider group and business structure. In October 2014 I was promoted up to Commercial Manager taking on the full time responsibility of one of our Citrus Retail Customers, managing the front facing aspect of the business and working on delivering retail plans through the company. In mid-2015 I took on responsibility of another retailer, again managing the front facing customer relationships and co-ordinating customer requirements with the wider team at MMUK. Through this role I have had the opportunity to visit other source countries – building on my knowledge of citrus and understanding what they can deliver to the customer. I have also undertaken further training to help build on management skills learnt through MDS.

Since the first day at MMUK I was welcomed into the team and the people within the business help to MMUK a great place to work. On top of this there are many opportunities to develop as a person and develop skills to help in the role. There are always projects outside the day-to-day work to help keep the job interesting and the opportunity to travel to source is a great way of expanding product knowledge.

Outside of work I am a keen cook which helps working in the food production industry as I keep up-to-date with the latest food trends. Outside of work I an avid fan of Cricket and enjoy playing Golf and Squash.

Samantha Davidson - Sustainability Coordinator

In 2014 I graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Environment & Sustainability. MMUK gave me my first graduate role in the Sustainability Team in May 2015. I was eager to get involved and make a difference and MM has really given me opportunities to do just that. Being part of an expanding team has meant I’ve been involved in developing new processes and procedures.

As part of the Sustainability Team we ensure that our growers have completed the correct due diligence and our products are ethically sourced. I enjoy working directly with our fruit and flower growers around the world and find this is the most interesting part of my role.

A key part of my role is learning about the challenges that growers face and being in a position to help them overcome these issues is hugely rewarding.

Paula Fell-Citrus Produt Specialist

I joined MMuk in August 2000 as one of two Quality controllers with the company having approximately 30 employees at our original site in Spalding.

The company then relocated to Chatteris and the Quality team expanded leading to me being promoted to Senior Quality Controller.
With the Company Continuing to grow I was again promoted to Team leader, this was a demanding and challenging role supporting the team and sharing the extensive knowledge I had gained in both Grape and Citrus products.

I was given the opportunity to travel abroad to Spain and Canada to visit and understand the challenges facing our growers to supply quality produce to us, these experiences added to my knowledge in other areas and in 2011 I was promoted to Citrus Product specialist to work alongside of the Technical, Commercial and Procurement teams, this is an exciting role and involves interacting with many other departments within the office and pack house environment.

MMuk has supported and rewarded me over my 15yr service with the Company and I look forward to the challenges that lay ahead!
